What is Exotic Lingerie

First of all, let’s define the meaning of the word exotic. Exotic means; intriguingly unusual, different, excitingly strange, or from another part of the world.

To shorten that phrase up exotic means different, unique or unusual to what you are accustomed to. So if you are searching for exotic lingerie then you are searching for lingerie in which is not normal to you.

The desire for exotic lingerie, shows that you are adventurous and would like to act out the fantasy of “being excitingly strange, or from another part of the world."

And you are thinking to yourself that you need some kind of wild lingerie to fulfill that fantasy. I am here to tell you that whips and chains, are not the only way to go. Just remember this important fact exotic means different and unusual for you.

Here let me give you some examples.

If you are a biker chick and wear leather vests and chaps all the time, then the whips and chains would not be considered unique or different. What would be exotic lingerie for you, would be a cute little pink or white teddy or babydoll with little ruffle but panties.

If you never wear dresses then something like a chemise or sexy club wear dress could be exotic lingerie for you.

If you are the lady whom wears dresses and is usually very feminine, maybe whips and chains will give the shock and awe you are looking for.

Costumes are also a good source of exotic lingerie, with tons of styles and fantasies to choose from.

The whole purpose of wanting exotic lingerie is to feel different than normal, and to shock and excite our partners. And there is something about an abrupt style change, which can boost your spirits and give you that all powerful feeling of confidence saying "I can be and do anything I want".
Men get excited about the unusual and new lingerie choices; it keeps them hanging on the edge of their seat wandering what’s next.

So when you are shopping for exotic lingerie, just remember it doesn't have to be totally wild and crazy to get his attention. Just pick something different than, what you would usually go for, and have fun acting out your fantasies.

Why is Lingerie So Sexy.

What is it about lingerie that men and women find so alluring? Is it the bare skin? Is it the leather or lace or lycra? Is it the promise of what is to come? Is it the tease?

Try an experiment, take 3 images of the same woman, image A she is dressed in blue jeans and a t-shirt, image B she is wearing nothing at all, and image C she is wearing A bustier, garter belt, thong, and fishnet hose. Put the three images in front of a man, and ask him to pick out the sexiest image. You may think he would pick the nude image. I'm sure he will give it a good look over, but when he considers it, he will, more often than not, pick image C.

We believe it has to do with what I call M.E.T. mystery, excitement, and tease. Image A has a normal appearance plenty of mystery, but, no excitement, and very little tease. Image B has plenty of excitement, very little mystery and almost no tease. While Image C has it all. Tease, just enough skin showing to get your attention. Excitement, sure, half dressed is a promise of what is to come. Mystery, oh yeah! Just enough covered to make the mind wonder.

So, lingerie is a great way to provide M.E.T. Why are strippers making money? Because they have used M.E.T. since they started. And the good strippers know how to use M.E.T. well. The question then becomes, are you using M.E.T.? Today's club-wear is so sexy because it provides M.E.T.. Back in the 60's mini-skirts became all the rage because of M.E.T.. Today it is low hip pants with the thong showing in the back. Who knows what the future will bring.

Throughout time lingerie has continued to be sexy. Lingerie has always used M.E.T.. Have you M.E.T. your guy? If you are one of those people that think “Why wear lingerie? I'm just going to take it off in 5 minutes.” The ladies that have discovered lingerie, have discovered just how excited they can get their man using M.E.T.. Now granted my perspective has a lot to do with my profession, I sell lingerie, costumes, club-wear, and hosiery. Why is a straight guy selling lingerie anyway? Because my gal M.E.T.. me.

I know the power of mystery, excitement, and tease. I have experienced it. You should too.

Sexy Lingerie - Hot Tips to Choosing the Right Gift for your Wife

If there's one thing that men love their women to wear, it's

sexy lingerie. If there's one thing that women love to wear, it's beautiful and sensual lingerie.

The challenge for men is to buy lingerie that falls into both these categories. Now, as most men will already know what lights their fire, they need to pay careful attention to the woman's perspective.

Men who get it right will quite probably get the delight of seeing the lingerie on their loved one, but men who get it wrong could well end up in the spare room!

So, what are the key considerations when buying lingerie for your wife or girlfriend?

The number one tip is to avoid anything that looks even vaguely tacky or cheap. Unless you are 100% sure that your wife loves red nylon, garments of this nature are a definite no no. Avoid them at all costs. Make sure you buy good quality branded lingerie, rather than poor quality imitations.

To make a good start, get an idea of her tastes by discreetly checking out what she already has in her smalls drawer. Be careful to leave it as you find it, unless you want 20 questions from her about why you've been in there. If you find a drawer full of t-shirt bras, it doesn't mean that this is what you should buy, it probably just means that she finds them comfortable for everyday wear - bras are a daily necessity for most women and first and foremost they are naturally drawn toward the practical, everyday comfort of a bra, so they'll have more comfy bras in the drawer than anything else.

Take note of things like the brands and styles she wears - when women find a brand they like, they often stick to it as the fit of the bra is more consistent. Use this information to check out what bras might be suitable for her and use a good lingerie site such as BraWorld to find out more about different styles.

Do check the size on the bras you find, but make sure you select bras that your wife or girlfriend wears at the moment, as a woman's bra size can fluctuate throughout her life. You need two bits of size information, her bra band size and her cup size. You'll get both of these from the label. Check a few bras to make sure there is consistency of sizing so that you get it right.

When you're ready to buy, the following checklist may come in handy.

Sumptuous fabrics such as silk and lace are winners with many women - they have a luxurious feel and finish that doesn't come with the everyday bras they buy themselves.

Matching sets are so much better than just a bra, they add style and class to a lingerie gift.

Some brands will always be considered as luxuries by women, it's all to do with reputation, style and quality. If you want to impress her, consider brands at the top end of the lingerie market such as Rigby & Peller and Lejaby.

Rich colours such as dark blue, plum, coffee and claret can be very becoming and add sex appeal to lingerie.

Beautiful embroidery makes lingerie special, so look out for styles that incorporate pretty details.

Avoid anything with cut out sections or peep holes - subtly seductive garments are so much more attractive to women that those that are blatantly revealing. The advice is similar for anything in scarlet, give it a miss unless you know for a fact that she loves red undies.

Gift wrapping is important. There is something utterly luxurious about opening a box full of floaty tissue paper and finding beautiful lingerie inside it.

Balconette and plunge bras are two of the sexiest styles as they enhance natural curves.

Finally, take the occasion into consideration. Beautiful lingerie is a great present for many occasions. It's a lovely way of saying 'thank you', or just 'I love you'. It's not a terribly good idea for her birthday though. Don't ask me why, it just isn't - but that's a whole new article!

You Can Buy Lingerie For Her Without the Red Cheeks.

With Valentines Day and birthdays never too far away, men know that she will want a present, and it will have to be good. More and more men are starting to buy lingerie – Good Choice. However, you need to get it right AND avoid embarrassing yourself, but how? You don’t want to be seen picking ladies underwear off the rack in a high street store. You can’t bring yourself to go into a specialist shop because you are too embarrassed to admit you don’t know her size, and do you really feel comfortable telling the assistant that your lady has boobs the size of grapefruit or apples or melons?

The least risk option is to buy off the internet: no embarrassment; a good selection to choose from and you can always return the underwear if you do get it wrong. Check their returns policy though as some websites will not accept back items of an intimate nature – ie: briefs. Men’s Lingerie Buying Guides have been used to great effect by many male purchasers from all over the world. Here are my own top hints and tips to help men in their choice of lingerie for their partner:

1. Remember that she is the one wearing the lingerie! Many women prefer pretty, lacy, elegant lingerie to the naughty stuff you would prefer to see her in!

2. Cheap and cheerful usually means scratchy and uncomfortable and often found filed under B for Bin very soon after…

3. Go through her drawer and pick out some underwear that she wore recently and that fitted her well. Check the size labels and buy those sizes (eg; 32F, or 38G etc). BIG HINT: make sure you put her underwear drawer back as you found it!

4. For briefs and night wear, check her dress sizes.

5. Choose colours that compliment her eyes and hair colour and her skin tone - if unsure, you can't go wrong with black

6. Think about what the garments are for - if it is just for bedroom wear, choose items that you know may be a bit daring, but that you know you will both like.

7. If you really want to impress, choose quality, luxury garments – some websites will even gift wrap them for you.

8. If the garments are for every day wear, think about what sort of clothes she will be wearing it with.

- Is she naturally shy? Choose something in a skin tone. A white bra will show up more under a white blouse than one that is skin coloured. A little bit of lace or embroidery will make it more special.

- Or does she like to wear lacy, coloured underwear that can be clearly seen? Go for the more luxurious looking items - quality and fit count here, so make sure you buy her something that will look good if it is going to be 'worn to be seen'.

- Does she like her straps to be on show? Look for underwear that has decorative lace or embroidery both on the cups and the straps.

9. Don't choose something too over the top if you are buying for her for the first time. Choose something simple and classy and learn about her likes and dislikes for future purchases.

10. If you are still unsure, why not buy a Lingerie gift voucher? This saves your embarrassment (and your relationship) and this way you can both get to choose…

So, it is possible to buy lingerie without the red cheeks!

Vicki Louise, founder of VickiLouise.com, offers a stunning range of luxurious, designer lingerie and nightwear especially for ladies with a fuller bust. Gift vouchers and a luxury gift wrapping service are also available.

Plus Size Sexy Lingerie to Suit Your Flirting Style.

Out to impress your man? You shouldn't focus just on the public aspect of your relationship - the things that other people can see and appreciate. In more intimate settings, however, there will also have to be some things that he can appreciate about you. Show your special side to your special guy on that special night, with plus size sexy lingerie!

And don't try to fit into those tiny bikinis and negligees if your man likes you just the way you are. Well-fitting, seductive sleepwear would be all that you need to make your special evening far more memorable! Take your unique characteristics into consideration, and find the plus size sexy lingerie that suits your flirting style.

Are you the shy, coy type? Perhaps you like to play the innocent in more intimate settings, the harmless, pristine angel? Then you would want to look into nightgown-type lingerie like baby dolls or chemises. Chemises and baby doll tops are like little sundresses, which cover up most of your upper body and often reach up to the top or middle of your hips. These are fairly modest lingerie types, but not too modest that they fail to tantalize.

White lace is a popular choice for girls who want to emphasize purity and cleanness. Lace is in fact a popular choice for lingerie, and while some types of lace MAY be uncomfortable, the comfort of the fabric depends on the maker and the cut. This is why it is important to try on lingerie before buying!

If you're feeling more risque, though, try red or black lace. Soft colors like white, pink, baby blue or cream are for more traditional girls. Should you happen to be the more aggressive, go-getting kind of girl - on the inside if not on the out - perhaps you will want to try darker colors to bring out your more primal side. You may also want to look into teddies, corsets, garter belts and other more... shall we say "provocative" designs!

In fact, why not go above lace and try cotton or even - dare I say it? Leather! Leather plus size sexy lingerie would definitely awaken the sleeping animal in him. Don't be too shy about describing your own personal flirtation style to your man - he of all people should see your most honest, most intimate side. Your chosen one, of all the men that have ever come your way, deserves only the very best.

Bra Frustration

I remember the times I would go shopping for Bras (especially during a sale) and when I got to the store, they either didn’t have my size or the clerk would say, " sorry but we just sold out". Yeah sure.

And please don’t mention Lingerie and Girdles!

Mine you, I could have went for the stuff in the back on the cheap isle, but why pay for something that will make you miserable and uncomfortable because of poor quality. Wash them a few times and what do you have…Wounds from the wire bursting out of the seams. Sure, I would save a buck or two, but I couldn’t see myself continuing to be uncomfortable all day due to something I hadn’t come to buy in the first place.

I decided that enough was enough and I was going to go online and find what I was looking for.

With gas prices being as high as they are, running all over town was now out of the question. I figured I could sit back in front of my computer, have a cup of coffee and relax a little.

There were three things that I need to do before I started my online journey. The first was to measure my full bust, under my bust and upper bust. These measurements also apply if you enjoy driving all over town.

Yes I said measure! It only takes a few minutes and you’ll be confident that you have your correct size in the event your girly figure has changed a little.

I went online and found the quality, price and most important... correct fit I was searching for.

Ladies, never settle for less. Take your measurements and find the price, quality and comfort you desire online.

Have a cup of coffee, tea or whatever and enjoy the Bra delights you can find on the Internet.

A Man's Guide to Buying Lingerie for his Lady.

Most men know nothing about picking out lingerie, which is understandable because it can be confusing. What type of lingerie to buy, what size, what color - how is a man to know? Here is a little guide to help you when choosing lingerie for that special someone.

There are a few things to consider before you go out. What does she like? Remember that you will not be wearing this - she will and you should go out with the intent on getting something she will like. If she is not into lacey, tiny, see-through teddies, chances are if you buy that, she will not be in much of a mood to wear it and you may never see it. So keep what she likes in mind.

If you do not know, check out her nightgown/lingerie drawer before you leave. Check for material type (cotton, silk, etc.), colors, and most importantly, size. She may be flattered if she wears a large and you get her a small, but if she wears a small and you buy her a large, you may find yourself in trouble. Avoid anything that says "control" on the label. Those items are used to firm and flatten tummys and rears and she would probably not appreciate receiving them as a gift.

Another thing to remember is if the store offers to wrap the lingerie let them. Dainty lingerie will look better in their wrapping than if you wrap it in the paper left over from your cousin's birthday. Presentation is part of the package with lingerie. Also, if you are uncomfortable in the store, check out online stores that sell lingerie. You can always start at Victoria's Secret, but most major department stores like Macys and Nordstroms also sell lingerie. Final note - remember to keep your receipt just in case it is the wrong style, size, or color.

Now, what type of lingerie is available? Just about anything you can think of! Ask yourself what the occasion is. Is this to let her know you love her? If so, something crotchless or see-through probably will not send that message. But, if it is for Valentine's Day or your anniversary, something a little more risqu้ might be appreciated. Bras alone have many different styles including push up, plunge, gel filled, padded, under wire, seamless, backless, strapless, open cup, and unpadded.

If you are purchasing a bra and panty set, always check out what she has in her drawer beforehand and definitely make note of the size - of both the bra and panties. Most places sell at least one pair of panties that match each bra, but some will sell several so you can mix and match. It will help to know what type of panties she likes to wear too - thongs, briefs, or high cut bikini.

When it comes to sleepwear, it can be just as confusing. One type of sleepwear is babydoll pajamas. They usually have very thin straps, a plunging V neckline, and are very short with matching panties. You will find most of these made out of silk or satin, materials that always make a woman feel good about herself. But, if she feels her breasts are too big or too small, or thinks her stomach is too big, you might want to avoid babydoll pajamas.

There are slips and chemises. Similar to the babydoll pajamas, these are a little longer and a little better at concealing problem areas such as breasts, butt or stomach. They too are usually made of silk or satin.

Gowns are full-length versions of the babydoll. Many are see-through or lacey and can help put your woman in the mood. Babydolls, slips, chemises, and gowns may also come with a robe.

A pajama set might not sound too sexy, but if it is silky, and buttons up the front, it can make your woman feel very sexy, especially if she is a plus size (size 18 or larger). Boxer sets have become very popular lately. The tops are tight, with thin straps and usually a V neckline, although there are boxer sets with normal t-shirt tops.

If you are really looking for lingerie to spice up your love life, take a look at Frederick's of Hollywood (available online). They have been selling sexy lingerie for over 50 years. They have a wide variety of garter belts, bustiers, corsets, teddies (similar to the babydoll, but one piece), crotchless panties, and fishnet stockings - items that may not be available at many stores that sell lingerie.

What type of lingerie you should get your love depends a lot on her self-esteem. Many big woman love sexy little teddies, but some will shy away from them, for fear of exposing too much of themselves. Most stores sell lingerie in plus sizes, which are a little less revealing. If she is really athletic, a boxer set might be something she would like. Thin women will look good in anything, but especially teddies, corsets, and babydolls.

When shopping for lingerie, try to keep in mind what she likes. If you purchase something similar to the lingerie she already has and in colors you know she likes, it will probably make her happy. But, keep the receipt just in case!

A Little Lingerie Lingo.

When shopping for lingerie online, some of the item descriptions can be confusing, especially for those purchasing a gift for that special someone and are not familiar with all the lingerie terms used to described a particular fabric or style. So, let’s cover some of these terms so you can be better informed when choosing your lingerie.

First, some commonly used fabrics you may not recognize. These are charmeuse, chiffon, jacquard, lace and satin. When you see these terms, the material/fabric of the item is being described. Charmeuse is a very satiny, very soft and flowy non stretch fabric. This fabric is typically used for chemises and camisoles, slips, gowns, robes, short sleeping sets, and even blouses.

Chiffon is a fabric of sheer silk or rayon. It is a lightweight material with a slightly rough feel to it. It can be made from cotton, silk or synthetic fibers, but is usually associated with silk or nylon and can be dyed to most any shade you like. Chiffon is very delicate and must be hand washed very gently. Lace is a delicate fabric made of yarn or thread in an open web-like pattern. A Jacquard fabric has a pattern of some kind pressed into the solid background. It can be a flat or a raised pattern. It can be of any type fabric such as a knit or a spandex. Satin is a smooth fabric, as of silk or rayon, woven with a glossy face and a dull back.

Now lets discuss a how they describe an item having some sort of decoration on the fabric – this is called embroidery. So if you see an “embroidered lace babydoll”, you know it’s a lace babydoll with some kind of decoration or enhancement. You may also see the term ‘appliqu้’. This is a decoration or ornament made by cutting pieces of one material and applying them to the surface of another.

Men, if you are buying for your beautiful woman and she’s self-conscious about her breasts hanging a little, you need to be familiar with the terms ‘underwire’. Bustiers, bras, and other ‘underwire’ items have wire sewn into the fabric under the breasts to add support. You may also see items with ‘boning’; these are rigid plastic or metal strips sewn in shape wear to give structure, support and body contouring.

There are several other fabrics available which you may be familiar with, such as silk, rayon and of course leather. There are also many other terms which we did not discussed, but the ones we went over will give you a little more familiarity with what’s out there. Happy lingerie shopping!

How to Choose Lingerie

In my business, I talk to a lot of gals and guys about lingerie. Ladies, if you heard what the guys say, you'd feel a lot better about your bodies. And, men, if you heard what the gals say, that last piece of lingerie you bought her.....well...she used it to decorate her shoelaces. Men want skimpy. Women want enhancement.

So how do you pick something sexy that both of you will like? The answer is simple. Be aware of the other's preferences. Men and women are different in what turns them on romantically.

Usually, when a man strolls into my store, he walks in, buys something, walks out. When he needs help he's specific in his needs. “Miss, do you have a piece of string, size medium, in Jeep Cherokee white, for my wife? It's our anniversary.”

Men want to see skin. Lots of it. and, the more skin they want to see, the more likely it is that it's going to be skin that's bumpy or birthmarky. Women don't want guys to see those parts. Most women have at least one of these parts. Sometimes, it's even part of a set. Like many women, the part that I'm trying to hide is my stomach. To ensure that my belly's seen by as few people as possible I've tattooed these instructions on it: to be viewed only by medical personnel who are removing something underneath..

When a woman buys lingerie, she is trying to accomplish at least one of three objectives: show something, hide something or pretend you've got something. The skinny girls usually don't want to hide anything; they want to show stuff, and pretend they've got stuff. The bigger girls want to show and hide stuff. And, if the stuff is supposed to be big and it's little, that's when you buy the stuff to pretend you've got it. And, if the stuff is big and that stuff looks good big, that's when you show it. And, if it's big and it should be small, cover it up. Guys, we work so hard to please you, that we not only cover up the big parts that don't look good big, we actually try to squish them in. That's why women go to the bathroom in pairs. To make sure no one explodes.

Women who have a C cup or larger need support when they're wearing lingerie. Applauding is not what I mean by support. Guys think architectural engineering. You know the way those cables hold the Golden Gate Bridge up? Bra straps work the same way, except you don't have all those cars going through.. And, underwires are like support beams. Without basic support, a structure will fall. Think about that Leaning Tower of Pisa. It looks like it will topple over any moment. That's the fate awaiting large chested women without the proper bra support. Years from now, they'll be leaning over from the weight of it all.

So, the bottom line is that women want to look beautiful for their sweeties. And, men think that a woman's bare skin is what looks sexiest on her. Keep that in mind, folks, next time you go shopping for lingerie.

Hey, wait a minute......my honey just bought me a gift. It's....what appears to be..... lingerie. Hmmmmmm. What the?! ...... It's a piece of string... with a neon feather. I guess it'll work as an anklet. For my sister's next birthday.

History of Lingerie

Lingerie is a term for women's fashion undergarments. It derives from the French word 'lin' for linen. While the term in the French language applies to all undergarments for either sex, in English it is applied only to those women's undergarments designed to be visually appealing or erotic, typically incorporating materials such as Lycra, nylon (nylon tricot), polyester, satin, lace and/or silk and not applied to functional cotton undergarments.

The concept of lingerie being visually appealing is relatively recent. Up through the first half of the 20th century women selected underwear for three major purposes: to alter their shape (first with corsets and later with girdles or bras), for reasons of hygiene, or for modesty. Women's underwear was often very large and bulky. As the 20th century progressed underwear became smaller and more form fitting. In the 1960s 'controversial' lingerie manufacturers such as Frederick's of Hollywood begin to glamorize lingerie and the idea of lingerie having a sexual appeal slowly developed.

The lingerie industry has expanded in the 21st century with designs that double as outerwear. The French refer to this as 'dessous-dessus' which basically means innerwear as outerwear. The boutique Faire Frou Frou, which is an antiquated phrase meaning "show it off", heralds this philosophy by categorizing lingerie as an accessory with details such as straps and lace trim that should be layered and shown as part of one's outerwear.
